The Government of Saskatchewan has launched a media campaign to encourage Saskatchewan residents to get their COVID-19 vaccination when it is their turn.

'Stick it to COVID' features Saskatchewan people sharing their story of why they are getting vaccinated. This campaign will run province-wide and feature TV ads, radio, social media, and more.

Moose Jaw’s own Jared Robinson wrote the original music score for the ad.

Grade 5/6 teacher at St.Mary's school in Moose Jaw, Jenni Senger, is featured in the campaign.

Senger says teachers and staff are willing and excited to get the vaccine to keep the students safe.

"The point of the campaign is just to show different perspectives to the population so they can understand how the pandemic is affecting different professions and people. Hopefully, this will help people understand why it is so important to get vaccinated and maybe motivate them to get it when the time comes," says Senger.

Senger says it's been difficult teaching during the pandemic, and the students really miss pre-pandemic school days.

"Going back to our distanced learning this week, when we announced it to the kids you could just see their faces drop because they did not want to go back to this. They just want to be back in school," says Senger.

Senger hopes kids can get back to learning and socializing soon.

The main ad is narrated by Regina ER Nurse Leah Sawatsky, who has worked on the front-lines throughout the pandemic and was one of the first people in Saskatchewan to receive the vaccine.
