A Snowbird jet caught fire during landing at an air show in Nova Scotia, where the nine-plane team was taking part in the Atlantic Canada International Air Show at CFB Greenwood, roughly 144 km from Halifax.

Snowbird 5 stopped well before the end of the runway when a small fire broke out on the nose wheel on the plane.

Both pilots in the tutor plane, Capt. Matthew Hart and Capt. Kevin Domon-Grenier, who is still in training, made it out without injury.

Firetrucks pulled up to the plane and quickly extinguished the flame.

The snow birds will continue their tours and performances either using a replacement plane or flying in 8-men formations.
