Mother's Day is on the horizon, and the local Moose Jaw Shriners are hoping you join them in celebrating the women in our lives.

The annual MOMentum Mother’s Day Cruise is happening on Sunday at 1:00 pm, and this parade of cars will drive around the city as a special thanks to all mothers in the community.

Those looking to join the cruise can show up around 12:15 pm at the Town 'n' Country Mall south parking lot.

Shriner Aaron Ruston says the event is for everyone, "it's designed to honour not only the moms in our world but of course all the ladies that are so significant in everything we do." He also says any car or motorcycle can participate in the cruise.

Ruston also says the cruise will be stopping by several retirement homes.

"We will be cruising slowly by a few retirement homes and then coming back up Main Street," says Ruston.

If you are not looking to partake in the cruise, Ruston says another good option would be watching the parade from the sidelines.

"We are hoping that all along the path there will be some families lined up," he says.

In addition, the Shrine Clubs 2022 Black Bow Tie Camaro will be leading the cruise, with raffle tickets for the Camaro available at the event. Tickets are $20 apiece, five for $50 or 20 for $100.

Ruston says the raffle has gone completely digital, "there will be QR codes all around and we will have it on our website as well."

All funds raised will go towards projects of the Moose Jaw Shrine Club.
