SGI announced on Wednesday that they are now accepting applications for new traffic safety grants and photo enforcement locations.

When the pilot was first launched in Moose Jaw, 4% of all vehicles that passed through the intersection of 9th Avenue and the Trans Canada Highway were speeding. Following two years of having the photo cameras in place, that number has dropped to around 1%.

Grant funding would provide up to $100,000 per traffic safety initiative, which would go toward speed cameras, speed bumps, and flashing lights near intersections
