A Saskatchewan product will have an opportunity to make his hometown team next season.

Warman, SK defenceman Anthony Hallborg signed with the Saskatchewan Rush on Monday.

Hallborg was drafted 58th overall by the Rush in the 2017 NLL Entry Draft after playing with the Saskatchewan SWAT junior A team. He attended training camp with the Rush and also hit the court for NLL preseason action.

The six-foot, 165-pounder will now have a shot to crack the team this year.

The Rush also signed transition player Jordi Jones-Smith, who grew up being coached by Rush head coach and general manager Derek Keenan in Whitby, ON.

Jones-Smith was originally drafted by the New England Black Wolves with 48th overall pick in 2015.

The Rush are preparing for the 2018 NLL Entry Draft coming up on Sept. 25.
