River Street Promotions has donated $85,000 to support mental health initiatives at Prairie South School Division and Holy Trinity Catholic School Division. The funds were proceeds from the Homestand '22 concert event held this past September at Ross Wells Ball Park. A donation of $15,000 was also gifted to Ross Wells Ball Park for further beautification and improvements to the facility and field.

This year marked the second year for the Homestand event, which attracted over 1,300 people. The 2021 concert raised $50,000 for the school divisions in addition to $15,000 for the ball park.

"It essentially started with talking about our own kids and the struggles that they were having, especially throughout COVID," said James Murdock, one of the founding members of River Street Promotions. "We could see how it was changing them and affecting them. We all saw firsthand how it was changing our own children, so we thought, what can we do here to give some guidance and opportunities and how they can contribute being part of a community. We have to realize that these are going to be our future leaders and visionaries that we have. Let's try and help and allow them to navigate and get through some uncertain times."

Murdock says this year's 50/50 draw also raised $5,200 for the Moose Jaw Miller Express baseball team.

Homestand '23 will take place Saturday, September 9 at Ross Wells Ball Park. The event will broadcast the CFL Banjo Bowl game between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers, with live music to follow. The concert lineup is expected to be released in the coming weeks.
