Wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett jumps for a catch while at USC.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders continued to add players with college star pedigrees after the signing of three players on Friday afternoon, including former USC star receiver Dwayne Jarrett.  Financial details were not released.

Jarrett (6’4 – 219) was a second round pick, 45th overall, by the Carolina Panthers in the 2007 NFL Draft.  Over the course of his time in the NFL, the 25-year old appeared in 32 games while making three starts and recorded 35 receptions for 428 yards and one touchdown.

One of the most decorated receivers in USC history, Jarrett was a three-year starter and two-time consensus All-American for the Trojans. He played in 38 games during his time in Southern California and finished his collegiate career with 216 receptions for 3,128 yards and 41 touchdowns. While forgoing his senior collegiate season to enter the NFL Draft in 2007, Jarrett still remains the Pac-12’s all-time record holder with 41 receiving touchdowns.

Saskatchewan also added 23-year-old import defensive back Jail Johnson and non-import defensive back Dominic Noel.

The 23-year-old Johnson (5’10 – 181) spent 2011 as an undrafted free agent with the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars.  He played his freshman season at Mississippi Delta Community College before transferring to Jackson State University.

Noel (5’10 – 175), a native of Sorel, Quebec, played in 30 games during his career at Laval, playing in three Vanier Cup championships and capturing two.

The Roughriders also announced they have released import linebackers Maurice Lloyd, Kye Stewart and Darnell Bing, as well as non-import wide receiver Kolten Solomon.
