The playoffs arrive this week for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The Riders will be on their home turf this weekend when they go toe-to-toe with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Western Semi-Final on Sunday at Mosaic Stadium.

Regina product Zack Evans said their home-field advantage will be big this week.

"It’s crazy with those roaring fans in the background, it’s a lot easier [to win]," said Evans after the Riders’ regular-season finale win over the B.C. Lions, which clinched home-field advantage.

This will be the first home playoff game for Saskatchewan since 2013 when they went on to win the Grey Cup on their home turf.

Defensive back Ed Gainey said being at home will give the team a big boost this weekend, "There’s nothing better than playing at home in front of this crowd," he said, "So it’s always fun giving them what I want."

The Riders return to the practice field on Wednesday when Rider Nation will find out the status of quarterback Zach Collaros, who left Saskatchewan’s regular-season finale after taking a headshot from Odell Willis

Kick-off for the Western Semi-Final will be at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Riders Add O-Line Insurance

The Riders added veteran offensive lineman Simeon Rottier to its practice roster on Tuesday.

Rottier retired prior to the 2018 CFL season after playing 124 career games with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Edmonton Eskimos.

He won the 2015 Grey Cup with Riders head coach Chris Jones in Edmonton.

Saskatchewan also added international running back George Atkinson III to its practice roster and released national offensive lineman Emmanuel Adusei.
