Saskatchewan's Ministry of Environment has issued an immediate fire ban for all provincial parks south of Churchill River straight down to the US border.

This ban includes Buffalo Pound and the majority of all provincial Crown land, burn notification areas, and provincial parks and recreation sites, with the only exclusion being Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park, where the hazard is lower.

During the ban, no fireworks or open fires are allowed in the areas, but more Self-contained devices are permitted for heating and cooking. That includes pressurized stoves, gas barbecues, propane firepits, or charcoal briquettes used in an approved firebox.

This ban will remain in place until the Ministry of Environment calls the restrictions off.
