Christmas dinner is a tradition for many families. For some, that tradition is not possible. Monica Haakenson and her husband Kevin are continuing their annual tradition providing a free dinner on Christmas day.

The owner of Bobby’s Place welcomes anyone, including children, to the traditional-style supper, with all the fixings. There is no registration required, simply show up and enjoy a meal. The doors open at 3 p.m. and doors will stay open as long as Haakenson deems necessary.

St. Andrew’s United Church is also preparing a dinner on December 25. Faye Hicks, who is organizing the dinner, asks guests to register with a simple phone call in advance. However, it isn't written in stone. You are still welcome to attend without a call. The supper gets underway at 5 p.m.

If you know someone who might be alone this Christmas, reach out and let them know there are places to go where they can share food and fellowship with others.  It's all thanks to a number of very special, local people.
