Here are some of the stories that we are following to start the new week.


One person is dead after a fire at a Saskatoon Apartment complex this weekend.

Five different fire crews reported to the blaze and they were able to pull the woman from the building but she was pronounced dead at the scene. Damage is estimated at $500,000 and the cause is still under investigation.

Regina fire investigators are looking into a condo fire that sent smoke hundreds of feet into the air.

The building was under construction and scheduled to open next year. Drywallers were working inside at the time, but it appears that no one was hurt.

Icy roads are being blamed for a fatal crash near Melfort this weekend. Four teens were involved with a 16 year old boy succumbing to his injuries in hospital. Two others were taken to hospital while the driver did not require hospitalization.

RCMP say the vehicle they were in clipped a power pole and came to rest against a tree.  Roads were icy at the time.
