The 2017 Special Olympics Saskatchewan Summer Games kicked off the three days of events on Friday night with the opening ceremonies held at Mosaic Place in downtown Moose Jaw.

Moose Jaw's Carl Paulhus, who is competing in Bocce Ball with Team Southwest, was the final torch barrier, lighting the flame to officially open the 2017 Games in Moose Jaw, which are the first in the city's history.

The Games pick-up on Saturday with a full day of events around the city, click here for a full schedule. There's events on Sunday as well to finish up.
