The intersection of Highways 35 and 335 has seen accidents in the past, and was the scene of the tragic Humboldt Broncos bus crash last week.

Locals say the intersection is known as a dangerous area for travellers, and say they would like to see the speed limit reduced and rumbles strips installed.

However, due to the type of pavement on Highway 335, the Ministry of Highways isnt entirely sure that rumble strips will be possible, saying the road isn't thick enough to cut strips in. There is research being done to see if the potential exists to upgrade part of the intersection with thicker pavement so they could add the strips in .

Other extra safety measures that are being considered include pavement markings, lighting, or signage.

Government officials say they want to discuss the possibilities but also want to wait until RCMP wrap up their investigation.
