Colleen Christopherson-Cote and Shawn Davidson

They met for the first time Tuesday and got right down to business electing a new chair and vice chair of the Prairie South School Board.  Subdivision 4 representative Colleen Christopherson-Cote was re-elected as board chair for a second term and she hopes to continue in the direction they were going before the civic election last month.  Although she understands that they will need to be prepared for any changes handed down from the Ministry of Education.

"We'll have to realign our strategic goals with what comes out of the continuous improvement framework." explained the newly elected board chair. "We're currently working with our provincial trustee association to sort of make head way with what those potential changes could be."

Christopherson-Cote says practical and applied arts, enhancements in rural communities, solidifying early learning programs, building strong fiscal responsibility and supporting student learning throughout the division are their key priorities as a school board.

Shawn Davidson, Subdivision 5, was re-elected vice-chair.  Joining them are Darrell Crabbe, Tim McLeod, Jan Radwanski, Brian Swanson and Lew Young who represent the Moose Jaw Subdivision.  Ron Gleim represents Subdivision 1, Jackie Jelinski in 2 and Al Kessler won in Subdivision 3.
