Friends of Annie Krogan describe her as a lovely, positive person who was always smiling.  Sadly, the 48 year old died as a result of a house fire on River Street East last month.  "It was a devastating blow to those who knew her well," said Christy Schweiger, one of Krogan's close friends.

Schweiger said, since there was no public funeral service, she and her close friends didn't get a good chance to grieve and come to terms with their loss.  So, the five friends have put together a fundraiser to pay tribute to Annie's life and, appropriately, it's something that she would of enjoyed.

"As friends, gathering together, Bobby's Place was one of the places we would often visit with her," Schweiger said.  "She was also passionate about the humane society and animal rights."

Tonight, Bobby's Place will host a fundraising rib and caesar supper and trivia night.  The evening, which starts at 6pm, will include a silent auction and 50/50 draws with all proceeds going to the Moose Jaw Humane Society.  Tickets are available at the door or by calling 690.8345.

"The emptiness is always going to be there but this helps us get through it," Schweiger said.
