Moose Jaw – Lake Centre – Lanigan NDP candidate Talon Regent cut the ribbon to officially open his campaign office in downtown Moose Jaw.

Regent said it didn’t take long for his team to hit the campaign trail after the federal election was called.

“We were the first EDA, the first team, to have a fully functional campaign office and we are the first ones to start contacting and rallying with our community members. It was about two minutes after the writ dropped that we started and we were ready to go,” he told his supporters at the office opening.

He added that his team is already ahead compared to other NDP candidates across the country.

“The NDP database showed that we were second in the country on day two of the campaign. For the most number of signs across the riding and that was across the country we were second.”

Rallying his supporters, Regent said the NDP’s slogan is “Ready for Better” and he believes that Canadians are ready for change.

Some of the issues he addressed with his supporters included the end of for-profit long-term care homes, steady jobs and universal Pharmacare.
