"I'm going to a fitness class" 6 words I never thought I'd say, but thanks to an invitation from Kyra at The Strong Studio there I was, along with my wife who loves Kyra's classes. I didn't know what to expect, I've had gym memberships in the past, played sports, rode my bike etc etc. All of those went ok for a while, but life would pop up and I would slowly stop going. There is something different about attending a live class.

Kyra told me that the first class is the hardest, she was right. About 15 minutes into the "Body Blast" class I thought... I don't think I'm going to make it through this class. Then my body settled in and it felt great. There were times when I wanted to stop during that class, my shoulders on fire I was about to put my weights down, then almost as if she was reading my mind, I heard the instructor Bethany yell "Don't you dare put those arms down!" so I pushed through. It felt great, even if I was sore the next day.

I never thought I would attend a class like that, but I tried it, and I loved it. Part of my hesitation was that I felt awkward about going, what I found out was that once you are there, NO ONE CARES! I mean that in a good way, everyone there is friendly and supportive, but when the music starts everyone is focused on the stage, on their own fitness, it's a great atmosphere that's easy to be comfortable in.

This is the 3rd week of Moose Jaw's Top Dropper and I'm excited to see where this journey takes me. For the 300+ people in our community who are part of this challenge, keep going, stay strong, you've got this! For anyone who has thought about trying a new fitness routine but hasn't made the jump... give it a try! What have you got to lose?
