On April 6, 2018, Logan Boulet along with 15 others were killed in the Humboldt Broncos bus crash.

Boulet was an organ donor, and the day after the crash his organs were donated to those in need. This movement was referred to as the ‘Logan Boulet Effect.’

The Canadian Transplant Association now holds Green Shirt Day every year on April 7 for organ donation.

In Saskatchewan, those wishing to be organ donors do not need to go through the same process as other provinces as there is no formal organ donor registry.

It comes down to adding an Organ and Tissue Donor sticker to your Saskatchewan Health Services card, and signing the Intention to Donate Card, which is available from eHealth Saskatchewan by calling 1-800-667-7551.
