Thanks to blowing snow, roads west and southwest of Moose Jaw are a little dicey today.

Yesterday, Environment and Climate Change Canada declared a snow squall warning for that portion of the province due to snow and wind reducing visibility to near zero at times.

This morning, road conditions took a big hit as a result of that weather.

Roads around Assiniboia, Coronach, and Gravelbourg areas are listed as having the following conditions on the Highway Hotline:

  • SlushWinter conditions.
  • Icy or slippery sections.
  • Loose snow
  • Wet, subject to freezing
  • Swirling snow
  • Drifting snow
  • Winter conditions exist

If you plan on traveling around southwest Saskatchewan today, keep updated on road conditions.

As snow ploughs are sure to be a common sight on southwest Saskatchewan highways today, ensure you follow the rules and regulations for road etiquette around the machinery.
