A contractor hauling waste to the city landfill didn't get off to a very good start this morning.

The Moose Jaw Fire Department was called to the landfill at about 8:14 a.m.after the engine of the vehicle caught fire.

Firefighters had the blaze under control by 8:30 and left the scene by 9.

No injuries or other damage was reported.
