2021 marks the 30th anniversary for Moose Jaw's annual Festival Of Trees event.

The event bring businesses and local volunteers together to support the Moose Jaw Health Foundation

Last year, the festival was remade in a brand new way as a virtual event but that didn't stop moosejavians from watching and buying products in the auction.

"There's no event quite like the Festival Of Trees and over the last 25 years this event has raised over $4.6 million," said Ryan Hrechka, Chair of the Foundation.

All of the proceeds form each annual event goes toward improving the quality and service at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Hospital investing in new medical equipment, training for for nurses, doctors, and other medical professionals who will use the equipment, and it will also support home care services for people who are receiving care from nurses within the comfort of their home.

Just last year, Festival Of Trees raised around $113,000.

This year, the Festival Of trees "Homegrown Christmas" will continue to support the hospital by hosting another virtual event.

"Earlier in the year, the Festival Of Trees Committee started planing for a significant live event. However, as the summer months progressed and most recently the beginning of the fall it became abundantly clear that the live event could not take place. The Safety of our donors, festival guests, and volunteers is our number one priority," said Hrechka.

It will be lead by the Chair of the Festival Holly Jorstad.

Jorstad says, " While Festival Of Trees is virtual the spirit and the fun if the festival will stay the same. The Festival features an online live auction, a signature silent auction, and the best of Moose Jaw design to create a magical event."

On Saturday December 4th at 7 p.m. people can join the live auction and signature silent auction to virtually mingle and participate in buying decorated Christmas trees along with other Christmas products such as ornaments, wreaths, quilts, and much more.

There is no cost to join the auction but advanced registry must be completed before the event.

The online registry will open in November and more information will be released at that time.

The decorated Christmas trees can be sold at a price anywhere between $1000 to $10,000.

As of December 1st people can preview the digital silent auction catalog on the Foundations website which will feature all of the decorative Christmas trees.

Plus, the trees along with other auction items will be on display at the Cultural Centre lobby in late November.

The Foundation is also encouraging businesses to decorate their storefronts in support of the event.

Any live-action items on display will be featured on social media with the help of WOW Factor Media.

Also, affordable sponsorship will be available to businesses and individuals which will include exclusive festival swag.

If people would like to throw their own house party in junction with the event, some Festival swag can be delivered to make the evening more special.

People can also optionally purchase to have a special Festival meal delivered to their home.
