After going months with little to no moisture, the Moose Jaw area has been getting wet systems rolling through during the past few weeks and moisturizing the ground and crops.

However, due to the recent rain, construction projects in the city have been stalled. The City of Moose Jaw announced some recent updates to their construction project schedule for the 2019 season.

-Athabasca St. W. between 9th Ave-10th Ave: All pipe replacement is complete. Paving on the 900 block has been delayed due to extremely wet conditions. Approximate completion date: July 23 (weather permitting).

- Edmonton St NW from 10th Ave NW to 11th Ave NW: Water main pipe is installed but there is a high volume of residential service connections to complete. Connections are estimated to be complete by July 25, weather permitting.

- First Ave NE from Saskatchewan St NE to Caribou St NE: Crews are on the first stage of replacing the water main from Saskatchewan St. to Hall St. When complete work will continue down to Caribou St.

As well as the City provided some additional projects that are on the agenda over the next few months.

- Third Ave NE from Athabasca St. NE to Hochelaga St E
- Main St. N from Hochelaga St. NE to Athabasca St NE
- Athabasca St. NE from Main St. N to First Ave NE
- Fairford St. NE from Fifth Ave NE to Sixth Ave NE
- Stadacona St. NW from 12th Ave NW to 11th Ave NW

In conjunction with SGI's Traffic Safety Spotlight for the month of July, the City is asking all drivers to slow down in construction zones and obey all signage and barricades.
