The government of Saskatchewan has announced nearly $1 million annually to expand the provincial strategy on Child Sexual Exploitation.

A good chunk of the funds will be spent in Regina, Prince Albert and Saskatoon bring to mind the question, is it a problem here in Moose Jaw?

Early indications are no, but then we spoke with Moose Jaw Police Constable Murray Rice. "We have people that we've seen come from Regina out here and quite often we are quick to enforce that and quite often they return to the big city."

Rice says most of the child exploitation that happens in Moose Jaw in online in chat rooms and through email. This can be prevented through communication with our kids according to Rice. "The first and biggest part we can do as parents or as police is educate kids about the potential and the threats that are out there and the dangers that are out there. By educating them we hope that they are going to make the right decisions."
