With CHAB celebrating its 100th anniversary, Morning Show Host Rob Carnie has been busy reconnecting with long-time listeners.

Carol Matthews of Swift Current was the lucky winner of a '56 Chevy pickup truck back in 2005. We teamed up with a number of local businesses that summer, giving listeners a chance to win "The CHAB Sun Cruiser".

She still has the truck 17 years later.

"We go to the car shows, there's usually two or three around here that we go to or we'll head off to the A&W for a root beer or something like that. It's not very road worthy, it's kind of bumpy and rattly but it does good around town."

Carol still displays the poster with all of our sponsors for that promotion.

She reminisced about the winning moment.

"There were six others of us there and we all got down to a draw. There was little gifts on the podium. We could pick whatever colour wrapped one we wanted so I picked blue with a yellow bow and I opened it up and there was a watch in there and the key for the truck."

Carol grew up in Moose Jaw listening to CHAB Radio and started piano lessons at the age of four. In fact, she even played live on CHAB, performing a song on the Ethel Hall Program in 1953.
