It didn't seem to matter that the playoffs started in August and finished in September.  It didn't seem to matter that no fans were allowed to attend the games in "the bubbles".

The Stanley Cup Playoffs, like they always do, brought people together - mostly virtually this time around.

The Tampa Bay Lightning won the cup last night with a 2-0 win over Dallas Stars in game six of the best of 7 series.

Former Moose Jaw Warriors star Brayden Point scored his 14th goal of the playoffs last night.  He has become one of the best hockey players on the planet.

Point isn't the only champion with local connections.

Lightning defenceman Luke Schenn is from Saskatoon and veteran Braydon Coburn hails from Shaunavon.

The legendary Hayley Wickenheiser paid tribute on Twitter;  "...What a journey from our hometown of Shaunavon to the cup!", she wrote.  "So proud of you Braydon."

A number of locals are congratulating Brayden Point on social media today, including Vanier Collegiate where he attended classes while with our Warriors but, it was the Voice of the Warriors who brought it home for me.

James Gallo on Twitter; "In a year where it's been hard to find a smile...I'm ear to ear right now watching @BraydenPoint19."
