We knew he was special when the Moose Jaw Warriors brought him up late in the 2011-2012 season when he was just short of his 16th birthday.  He played a key role in what was an impressive playoff run, scoring 7 goals and 10 points in 14 games.

Here we are 9 years later, and Brayden Point is a two-time Stanley Cup champion and a bonafide NHL superstar.

Yesterday, he signed an 8-year contract extension with the Tampa Bay Lightning for $76 million.  He's entering the final season of a 3-year contract that pays just over $20 million.

So, do the math, when the extension kicks in, Point will make $9.5 million per season.  Assuming he gets paid every two weeks like many of us, he'll get 26 pay cheques each year for just over $365,000.00 each before taxes.  That's the kind of glue that'll keep things together!
