You've got to get the "vax" if you don't want the "vid".

I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not but we're expanding our vocabulary during this COVID-19 pandemic.

We've created new words because of the virus.  In fact, Dictionary.com created one of its own to describe these words;  coronacoinages.

Phrases like "social distancing", "the new normal" and "flatten the curve" have become commonplace as have a number of new slang words like "coronageddon" and "coronapocalypse".

Of course, we all know someone we think is a "covidiot".  That's a person who, in a time of crisis, hoards food and essential supplies and denies them to those in need.

Have you heard "quarantinis" or "coronaitas"?  Apparently, those are martinis and margueritas, but you drink them at home - alone.

Some are naming the new generation of babies being born during the pandemic.  They're calling them "Coronials".

Oh, and if you've been forced to work from home during the pandemic, look on the bright side.  That's being called "coronacation".
