While only a few stores are open in Moose Jaw's Town 'n Country Mall these days, it was one of the busiest places in town on Saturday.

There was a line-up of shoppers waiting to get into the Dollarama as staff there is limiting the number of people that can be in the store at one time.

Down the mall and down the hall, there was a line-up of hungry and nostalgic customers waiting to get one last taste of the food at Calico Junction.  After decades in business, Todd and Barb are retiring.  What a run they had.

The mall was THE place to be when it opened in the 70s  and for many years afterwards and Calico Junction was a favourite stop for hundreds, if not thousands, of local shoppers.

The good folks at Calico Junction, including a number of long-time, loyal employees, worked hard to serve it up fast and hot.

I've gobbled up a lot of hot dogs over the years and those dogs at Calico rank right up there among the best.  In fact, I don't know where else in the city you could get one that good.

Locals say the same about the poutine and the burgers.

I see on social media, they sold their last poutine just before 1 o'clock on Saturday afternoon.  In fact, they sold out of everything before they closed the shutters one final time.
