We first met via telephone.  He was the relatively new Member of the Legislature for Swift Current.  As we exchanged pleasantries before the interview, he told me how much he enjoyed listening to me when I called the Warriors games on 800 CHAB.  He especially enjoyed the Friday and Sunday night games when he was on the road between home and the University of Saskatchewan.  I liked that.  I liked him.

It wasn't long after it became clear that he was Saskatchewan's fastest rising political star.  In fact, I called him that on the radio.  He liked that.

And, he was.  Brad Wall rose to the top, becoming the leader of the Saskatchewan Party and in 2007, the Premier of the province.  He announced his retirement from politics yesterday.

Opinions on social media vary today.  I'm truly finding some true colours from a number of Facebook friends and followers.

I know Premier Wall and his Saskatchewan Party government have not been and are not perfect.  But he, they,  promised to take growth and prosperity to new levels in our province.  They've done it.  You can't argue with that.
