The Moose Jaw Bantam "B" Ice weren't even sure they made the playoffs at a weekend tournament in Regina.  Once they realized they were in, they made sure they won.

The team split their two tournament games on Saturday, and came into Sunday morning thinking they likely wouldn't make the playoff round.

"We won Sunday morning, and if we would have given up four runs, we would have been out," explained coach Vicki Halvorson.  "But since we didn't we got the wild card spot (in the playoffs)."

From there, it was a tale of two different games on the way to the tournament victory.

"The semi-final game we won 10-1," she said.  "The final game went into extra innings and we managed to pull out the win (against the Southeast Jays)."

"All the girls played their best," said Halvorson. "The bats were working, the pitchers were doing their job, and we had great defense all day.  I'm super proud of those girls."

The Bantam "B" Ice will head to Saskatoon for a tournament this weekend.
