So, that's it.  The Moose Jaw Family YMCA is all done.  The flagship location in Crescent Park closed the doors on the weekend.

A number of local people are heartbroken.  The "Y" has been a way of life and a home away from home for years for many locals.  They're sad and they're angry.  How could this happen?

Next door, the old Natatorium sits empty and has for many years.

Oh, and up on north hill, there's a nice building that used to be called the Hillcrest Sports Centre.  A gymnastics club makes use of the old curling facility but golfers lost the use of the beautiful cafe and lounge, not to mention the locker rooms and showers.

They tell me it would take $millions to bring these facilities back up to standard.

So, who has millions of dollars to get it done?  We do.  The City of Moose Jaw has about $100 million in reserves.

I'd say it's about time we spend some of our money on our facilities.  Don't we deserve that?  I think we do.
