The 7th Annual Wakamow Aboriginal Community Association Pow Wow is being held in Moose Jaw today.

The annual event has a number of activities taking place during the day including local art and food vendors, a pipe ceremony and feast, and a tipi set up.

The Pow Wow begins at 10 am this morning with a pipe ceremony and feast. Events run throughout the day in Wakamow Valley at Kiwanis River Park, and they expect a large turnout.

"The Wakamow Aboriginal Community Association has been around for just over ten years, this is our seventh annual Pow Wow and it started out with about sixty dancers at Riverview Collegiate and we've grown," explained Chair of WACA, Lori Deets. "Last year we had 129 dancers and we expect more this year so we keep growing every year and it gets better and better and better."

Everyone is encouraged to come to watch and join in with the festivities.
