The Board of the Saskatchewan Pulse Growers are being asked to move to a refundable levy.

The Pulse Growers are the only commodity group in the Province that currently does not have a refundable levy.

"We've been making increased investments in key strategic areas like pulse crop breeding, agronomy related research that really delivers value back to growers and helps to ensure growers remain competitive both with Canada but globally, as well. Certainly, the overall size of the levy and refundability is something our organization will look closely at," said Carl Potts,  Executive Director.

Under their current system producers pay a mandatory one percent levy at the time their crop is sold.
