Another Vital Community Conversation was held on Sunday in Moose Jaw.

A number of questions were asked and answered, including "What does community mean to us?', and "What challenges does your community face at the moment?"

Ashley Florent from the local YMCA explained why she thought this was important for her and other Moose Jaw residents.

"We had the community conversation in partnership with the SSCF (South Saskatchewan Community Foundation) because we wanted to understand what issues were emerging in Moose Jaw and how the YMCA  could help, what capacity we had to meet these emerging needs in Moose Jaw."

Many points were touched on as the discussion went on, with Florent noting there was a certain level of understanding and conversations that will be used as catalysts or drivers for initiatives in the future.

"I think we got a good understanding - the members that were here, and the community members on what's important to them and possibly how the YMCA could address those issues in the community," said Florent.

She said everyone left satisfied, noting she was pleased with the turnout as it's positive to see so many residents wanting to be engaged with their community and the Moose Jaw YMCA.
