Immunization clinics have been running non stop this flu season, and there is still plenty of time to receive your shots.

"The flu clinic is still on until the end of March," said Medical Health Officer at the Five Hills Health Region Dr. Lanre Medu. "Typically flu season goes from about October to March, and so that's on tempered climates here in North America. We're still right smack in the middle of it."

Receiving your immunizations can help protect you and your family from sickness, and can give everyone a comfortable and happy time during the holidays. Also, for the time being, the amount of people receiving their shots has been pretty good.

"It's gone fairly well, flu sessions have noticed the overall number of persons receiving the influenza vaccines has remained unchanged," said Medu. "We did have a little bit of a reduction within the city, but that maybe attributed to all the providers who are providing the vaccine to all the persons. However, rural communities have appeared to have inched up a bit compared to other years."

Most public flu shot clinics have come to an end, but you can get your flu shots by contacting the public health office at (306) 691 1500 and booking an appointment.
