We were expecting the snow but that storm that blew in Thursday was a little unexpected. At least 5cm of snow fell on Moose Jaw but it was the wind that made it terrible to be out in.  Severely reduced visibility was being reported at times on the highways into the evening.

There is some reduced visibility currently but the snow is expected to taper off towards noon. Highway crews are out trying to make roads safer around the province but when it's the wind causing problems, being aware of what the highways are like can be the best precaution.

Doug Wakabiashi with the Ministry of Highways says the Highway Hotline is there through the winter for road updates whenever we plan to travel. "Road conditions on the Highway Hotline during the winter months are updated a minimum of three times a day and then as needed."

Reports from RCMP and drivers are also added to the website as they come in. You can find the report here on DiscoverMooseJaw.com.
