This week, roughly 150 people have gathered in Moose Jaw for the 59th Annual Public Works conference, which hasn't been hosted here since 2008.

The three day conference includes 13 individuals representing the City of Moose Jaw. The theme this year is "Leadership in Planning for Tomorrow" and brings together innovative business and public works professionals from communities across the province, including contractors, consultants, First Nations communities and rural municipalities.

"We're an association that comes together to build a network for members to share and receive resourceful information between anyone pertaining to public work." Stacey Dobrescu, Public Works Supervisor described the importance of the event.

"The benefits that an individual can get from attending the conference is - it gives public works members an opportunity to meet (people) from other municipalities and learn about the newest technologies available."

The convention runs through Thursday with various presentations, speeches and a tour of Mosaic place.
