The provincial government is giving themselves a pat on the back and celebrating what they call great strides in bringing more doctors to Saskatchewan.

A release issued this week claims that number of physicians has increased by nearly 900 since 2007 or 51%. In total, more than 2600 doctors are said to be practicing in Saskatchewan right now.

But here in Moose Jaw, patients are telling a different story after being turned away as they try to get a family doctor. Some are being told to try and book online while others have reportedly been told to try going to Regina. Moose Jaw's Dr. Mark Brown says the Province of Saskatchewan has the second worst doctor patient ratio in the country, next to Newfoundland/Labrador.
