Moose Jaw Police support staff have a new contract after more than two and a half years of negotiations with the City.

The last deal expired in December of 2011 and the new contract for CUPE members was ratified on Tuesday. This five-year agreement runs through the end of 2016 and includes higher wages to the tune of about 3% each year for the communications staff and others who support the police in their daily work.

The contract is retroactive to the start of 2012 and also include health care provisions and the establishment of a joint market review committee to compare and evaluate their positions with other police agencies in Saskatchewan.
