If you saw the Moose Jaw Police Service's Police Report, it may have been missing something we were all expecting - collisions.

Although the highways were rough and in town wasn't much better, the local Police Service is pleased to report that there were no major accidents within the city.

"It's not that it's a surprise that we expect people to get into collision, but it's a reality. And when the roads were as bad as they were, we were quite pleased that we did not have any collisions that required our attention," Sgt. Kevin Pilsworth expressed.

While some vehicles might have rear-ended others because of not being able to stop or slid into a curb, there were no injuries, damage, blocked traffic, or tow trucks needed because of traffic collisions attended by the Police Service.

"We want to actually reach out to the people of Moose Jaw and just say 'good job'," Pilsworth added. "We didn't have to investigate any collisions that met our threshold, so essentially what it comes down to was there were no serious collisions in town."

The Moose Jaw RCMP also reported no serious collisions they had to respond to - just the occasional vehicle that slid into the ditch.

The road conditions were cited as possible factors in a number of collisions in the province, especially on the highways. As a result of a number of collisions, semi rollovers and other vehicles leaving the roads, the TransCanada Highway was closed around Regina for much of the morning, after a fatal accident west of Regina late Tuesday night.

The Regina Police Service also saw a number of accidents most likely due to the road conditions. They reported a total of 43 accidents, 7 of which had minor injuries.

Provincial RCMP also reported a single vehicle accident near Oxbow, and the Yellow Grass Fire Department responded to a three-vehicle collision near Lang on Highway 39. There were also reports of the slippery conditions causing a backup of traffic between Estevan and North Portal, as semis were having a difficult time navigating some of the Roche Percee Hills.

Luckily, the local forecast only shows fog as one of the biggest worries in the next few days, with a slight chance of flurries Thursday.
