A large number of Moose Jaw residents and people living in northwestern communities were left in the dark Thursday afternoon.

Around 4pm the lights went out and SaskPower crews jumped into action and quickly took to social media to let residents know what details were available.

SaskPower posted that the power was out in north and west areas in Moose Jaw along with Caronport, Keeler, Marquis, Mortlach, Boharm and all surrounding communities. They added that crews were headed to a substation and there's no estimated time for repair.

At 5pm they posted a large portion of customers will have their power restored; however, those who don't see their lights come on or the clock on their stove flash might have to wait until 9pm for things to return to normal.
