Grocery stores have been doing brisk business the past few days as many people attempt to stock up on essential items in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

With all the heavy traffic going through, the CO-OP Marketplace has taken extra measures to ensure the cleanliness of the environment.

Manager of Marketing and Community Relations Michaela Turner gave an update on the situation.

"So sanitizing all the door handles, pin-pads, cashier stations, all of the you-scans, hourly main cleans of the main areas. Cashiers are doing their stations as much as possible. So just many extra precautions are taken in terms of the sanitation and the cleaning of our store in general."

Turner added that they are currently having a hard time keeping items on shelves.

"We are sold out of a few things, but we are getting stock every day. Specifically, we don't have any toilet paper in stock but there is replenishment every day it's just our staff are trying to keep up with putting things on the shelves as they come in for sure."

Turner thanked all CO-OP members for their patience during this hard time.
