A wall depicting the stories and names of Saskatchewan soldiers awarded the Victoria Cross has been set up at the Government House in Regina.

Moose Jaw Wakamow MLA Greg Lawrence helped to unveil the special project this week and was pleased to be part of the event. The wall shows pictures and stories of the special soldiers, including Moose Jaw's own Lt Col David Currie.

"To honour our highest decorated soldiers from Saskatchewan, we created a wall of honour," explained Lawrence who is the Provincial Military Liaison. "There are 15 soldiers who have received the Victoria Cross for Valour and so we though it would be a good and fitting tribute."

The Wall of Honour was set up to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armistice signed ending the First World War and will be on display at Government House through January 6th. It will then be put on permanent display in Room 218 at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building.
