Thursday was an exciting day for the staff at Tourism Moose Jaw as they received the keys to a brand new booth.

This structure will be utilized all throughout the sunny months by Ambassadors of Tourism Moose Jaw to connect with even more visitors to our city in a remote location in our downtown core. The previous buildings used for the area were lent out to the local organization and they wanted something to call their own.

"When Wendell and Nick and the guys at Home Building Centre stepped up and offered to do this for us, we're a non-profit organization; we can't afford the luxuries of having nice little buildings like this," said Executive Director, Jackie L'Heureux Mason. "To be able to own one ourselves, instead of borrowing one and having it out as soon as we want to. It's a game changer for us."

Kaitlyn Aparicio, Senior Ambassador, knows that having this new building on the corner of Main and River Street will attract more people to the area.

"My main job downtown here is to enhance the experience of our visitors here in the this friendly little city; as well I'll be promoting our members and taking care of this area, making sure we look good and present well," explained Aparicio.

She said she'll be answering questions, offering directions to attractions and businesses and is looking forward to showing off what Moose Jaw has to offer.

Nick Pettigrew and Wendell Gillert, along with the rest of their team, said making the donation was easy as Tourism Moose Jaw plays such a big role in attracting not only visitors, but new people who plan to call our city home.

"We love to give back to the community, they keep us supported so show support back," added Pettigrew. "(The booth) looks great, and we hope they love it."

It won't be long before the new and improved location will feature new signage and be filled with materials for guests and residents to see our city, along with information on the people and establishments that make Moose Jaw a choice destination.
