Wind chill factors of -50 are being blamed for the death of a three-year-old girl, pipes bursting around the City of Moose Jaw, and we're not done yet.

The cold weather has claimed the life of a young child and police are trying to find her baby sister.

A tragic story on the Yellowquill First Nation, east of Saskatoon. Around 5:30 Tuesday morning a man was picked up by RCMP and taken to hospital to be treated for frostbite and hypothermia.

Eight hours later he asked police how his kids were. Police didn't know they were missing and immediately went to work. However, a search led to the discovery of a three-year-old child, frozen to death. Police are still searching for her one-year-old sister.

The weather yesterday had taxi cabs running non-stop, tow truck drivers were swamped, and its not done yet.

While the wind-chill warning has been lifted for most areas of Saskatchewan, don't expect it to get much warmer. Environment Canada tells us to expect a high of -26 Wednesday but luckily there shouldn't be much of a wind.

We reached -30 Tuesday for a high and -34 as a low. But we can consider ourselves lucky. In Uranium City, Saskatchewan they dipped to -47 that's below -60 with the wind-chill.

Back here in Moose Jaw, moviegoers got a little more action than they expected at Galaxy Cinemas.

Patrons had to be evacuated when water started rushing into the main lobby of the theatre shortly before 8 o'clock. A pipe had burst, apparently in the hallway connecting the theatre to the Town 'n' Country Mall.

A sign on the door Wednesday morning said, "We are closed until further notice."

But it wasn't just the mall that had problems as two other businesses were affected by pipes bursting, something that often happens when its this cold. It happened earlier in the evening at a business on the 1100 block of Coteau West around 6:30 and then early Wednesday morning at 15 Wing Moose Jaw.

As well, a water main suffered damage yesterday as the line broke on the 700 block of 4th NE, between Caribou and Athabasca.
