The line up to the landfill was a long one on Wednesday as residents at city staff attempted to clean up debris from Tuesday's wind storm.  Work at the landfill was hampered by the 90mm of rain that caused the ground to become saturated and difficult to drive on in some spots.

Tree limbs, fences and even siding were tossed about thanks to the 90km per hour wind gusts and now SGI is getting calls from their customers wanting to make a claim.

"If you do have water damage to your home, contact your insurance broker as soon as possible to file a claim." explained Marie Schultz, Communications Consultant with SGI. "Then your broker will notify your insurer and if you insure with SGI Canada, one of our adjusters will make an appointment with you to come out and asses the damage."

Schultz also asks that you record any damage that you can with photos and that if it's safe to do so, try stop any further damage from occurring such as covering broken windows or removing tree branches so they don't fall onto any other property.
