Welcome to a new season! Summer officially arrived at 4:07am Thursday and Moose Jaw will see a lot of activity to get things going.

Golden West Broadcasting is helping to kick things off with our annual Hot Dog Day. We've teamed up with the Moose Jaw Co-op to bring free lunch to the city from 11:30am -1:30pm. Come join us at the radio station at 1704 Main Street North for free hot dogs and pop.

Then Thursday night, the Moose Jaw Hometown Parade takes over Main Street. The festivities will start around 7pm from Saskatchewan Street heading south to Manitoba Street.

One float in the parade will be looking for a little extra community support. The Moose Jaw and District Food Bank will be accepting monetary and food donations to fill their hampers. A group of volunteers in blue shirts will be picking up any donations.

But what about the weather? Well, the old Farmer's Almanac is calling for a hot, wet summer on the prairies but our little pocket here in the southern portion of Saskatchewan appears to be the anomaly. July is expected to be average for rain and heat with August said to be home to most of the heat and rain but only slightly above normal.
