Local efforts to enhance our city's aesthetics haven't gone unnoticed.  

The best of the best in local gardening were honoured this week with the 2014 Moose Jaw Beautification Awards. The awards were handed out during Monday's city council meeting. There are 5 categories recognized each fall:

- Best Residential Garden Display

- Best Residential Planters and/or balcony (to recognize apartment dwellers and people with limited space)

- Best Commercial Property

- Best Residential or Commercial Xeriscaping Property (best employment of energy conservation in landscaping)

- Best Residential Property

- Best BackAlley

The Beautification Awards have been handed out since 1981.
