For years now, Dragons' Den has been giving entrepreneurs in Canada a chance not just for publicity, but also for success.

Recently, another Saskatchewan business has made the list of success stories after coming off of the show.

Val Michaud, sole proprietor and owner of Gravelbourg Mustard, came off the show last month with a sweet deal from one of the Dragons.

Gravelbourg Mustard is a company that specializes in mustard. From gourmet to dry mustard, Michaud uses them in the most creative ways, such as using them in martinis. Not only did she want to spread the word about her business, but Gravelbourg and Saskatchewan too.

"It is something I've always wanted to do and I just thought you know what the exposure will definitely get it [my company] out there," Michaud said. "It would be more or less of a commercial across Canada to see my product, my company out there and getting the deal is the bonus."

Michaud went in there ready to get her company out into the spotlight and show the Dragons what she had.

"I think I was more nervous backstage actually," she said. "When I finally got my chance to go and film, standing right in front of them was a little intimidating but as soon as I got to behind my table I felt like I was just at a trade show and I was talking to whoever came to my booth and I explained my product that was and I just kind of settled in."

Michaud went into to the Den offering 25% of her company in exchange for $100,000. While the Dragons didn't want to go with her deal, they were still biting. In total, Michaud received three offers, but eventually decided to go with Manjit Minhas' offer. Not only did she get the $100,000 for 45% of her company, she also gets Minhas' background and experience in the food industry, and they've been in contact since then.

"I've been in touch with her a couple times. She's wanting to do a little bit of mentorship here in the new year. As for the deal we're kind of in negotiation," Michaud explained. "So whether it goes through or not is still pending again. Again it's a great opportunity to boost your company out there even if you don't get a deal."

As for what the future holds, Michaud has already been receiving orders from across Canada, and she's been holding onto Minhas' promise of making her a millionaire.
