After a week of practice, the Moose Jaw Warriors are ready to go for their fourth straight win when they travel into Brandon to take on the Wheat Kings on Friday night.

The Warriors have won three straight games heading into this weekend's action and they may be catching teams off guard with so much offence gone from last year's squad.

Forward Peckford said the Warriors are enjoying catching teams by surprise, "It's nice to come out there, get some wins and surprise some teams," he said. "We're hanging in there, playing hard and getting wins, we're getting goals from a lot of the lines and everyone is doing the little things right."

The Warriors won't be able to catch the Wheat Kings by surprise on Friday night as this will be the fourth meeting between the Warriors and their Manitoba rivals already this season. Moose Jaw holds a 1-1-1-0 record against Brandon.

After beating the Wheat Kings 3-2 in overtime last Friday, Peckford said that the Warriors just need to stick to what has worked against the Wheat Kings so far.

"We've just got to go there and play our game, don't think about who we're playing, just play hard, do all the little things right and don't give them chances with our mistakes and we'll be good," said Peckford.

The defence was expected to be a strength for the Warriors coming into the season and with the return of Jett Woo to the lineup last week, everyone is settling into their roles.

20-year-old defenceman Dalton Hamaliuk said it's a good group to be a part of, "It's a lot of fun, we have a pretty good core," he said.

"Overall, we've been taking steps as a team and in the room, guys are stepping up."

For Hamaliuk, Saturday's game is one that he’s had circled on his calendar since coming to Moose Jaw as he will get the chance to face-off with his former team when the Warriors host the Spokane Chiefs.

Hamaliuk is excited about the chance to go up against the team that released him last month.

"This is the first time I've ever changed teams, so it's new to me and I'm sure it will be pretty exciting," he said.

Peckford found the back of the net for the first time this season in the Warriors' win over Swift Current last Saturday.

The 19-year-old forward said it was a much-needed goal for him, "It's definitely nice to get the monkey off my back there, it felt good to score, our line was really producing that game, so it was good," said Peckford.

The Warriors will look to keep building on their early success when they face-off with the Wheat Kings and Chiefs this weekend.

The Warriors are in Brandon on Friday night for a 6:30 p.m. puck drop. The Pre-Game Show is on Country 100 from Westoba Place at 6:10 p.m.

Moose Jaw will then host the Chiefs on Saturday at Mosaic Place. The Pre-Game Show is at 6:40 p.m. on Country 100.
